See Groton's July 4 Parade In Photos And Video

More than 85 groups marched and thousands lined the parade route Wednesday.

Thousands lined the streets for Groton’s Annual 4th of July Parade Wednesday, one of the town’s biggest community events.

Eighty-five groups marched, including the Second Continental Light Dragoons, fife and drum corps, military units, antique autos, the newly-crowned Miss Connecticut and six fire departments.

The parade began at 10 a.m. at Poquonnock Plains Park, and traveled west down Route 1 to the Groton Shopping Plaza.
