Today’s the one bad apple in a week of great weather. The National Weather Service says, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 75. It might be rainy through the evening and drop down to 61 degrees.
Anyone can get their blood pressure checked for free today at the Groton Senior Center beginning at 11 a.m.
Speaking of blood, would you donate some of yours? The Groton Municipal Building is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross Thursday. There is a shortage of blood and you are literally saving someone’s life with your donation.
The Bill Memorial Library is hosting a farmers’ market on today from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. They’ll have fresh, locally-grown produce and flowers.
If you’re up for a little jaunt, acclaimed neurosurgeon and author Dr. Eben Alexander will lead a discussion on his book “Proof of Heaven” tonight in at the Watch Hill Chapel at 6:30 p.m. The evening promises a “thought-provoking dialogue about afterlife and science” which will be followed by a reception at the Ocean House.
