Should Groton Hold the Line?
With recent referendums voted down for police station expansion and Flanders Road expansion, should Groton politicians hold the line for a two year period or start more referendum agendas. With the defeat of the school system referendum two years ago by FFAE and now the police and Flanders Road project by GATE, these grass roots PAC committees seem to have been leading the way in catching the spirit of the voters to hold taxes down.
Question of the day: Should this trend continue? If so, why and if not why not? Can Groton's least fortunate afford any tax increase or will it be inevitable anyway? Many many for sale signs are appearing and a new one appeared the other day on the corner of Thomas Road and Tower Avenue. Is Birch Plain Golf Course for sale too? If so, why? Is Connecticut just impossible to live in anymore?
