15 local students awarded a scholarship from Chelsea Groton Bank

Groton, Conn. (July 16, 2013) -- Chelsea Groton Bank is delighted to announce it has awarded 15 scholarships to local high school graduates.  The awards recognized students that have exemplified community service through their volunteer efforts, have excelled academically, and have exhibited strong leadership skills. The recipients all live in the communities served by Chelsea Groton Bank.  Scholarships, in the amount of $500 each, were awarded to: Yuna Jun, The Academy of the Holy Family; Puja Patel, East Lyme High School; Caitlin Noel, Fitch High School; Hariany Lopez, Grasso Tech; Brittany Schaffer, Griswold High School; Adedoyin Ladoja, Ledyard High School; Emily Liang, Montville High School; Dimitri Wallace, New London High School; Kyle Liang, Norwich Free Academy; Cami Morion, Norwich Technical High School; Mackensie Crowley, Stonington High School; Benjamin Whewell, Saint Bernard High School; Gabriel Morosky, Waterford High School; Emily Hamilton, Williams High School; and Victoria Adams, Wheeler High School. “It’s exciting for us to watch these students’ passion and commitment to their education take flight,” said Community Education Specialist Pam Days-Luketich. “Fostering educational opportunities is rewarding for everyone.  We believe the more we can assist in terms of education and service, the more our community benefits and thrives. This is central to our mutual philosophy of shared trust, purpose and respect.” Since 2007, the scholarship program has provided for dozens of local students so that they may pursue degrees in higher education.
