Residents who sustained storm related damage from Hurricane Sandy may be eligible to receive an emergency loan from Chelsea Groton Bank.
The special unsecured loan program was developed for those who have the challenging task of repairing, replacing and cleaning-up after the hurricane; especially in situations where insurance may not be enough to cover all losses.
Residents of New London County and bordering towns and cities may apply at their local branch or by contacting 860-448-4100 before December 31, 2012. Each application will be reviewed to determine eligibility. Find out more at chelseagroton.com.
Michael Rauh, President and CEO said, “Many home and business owners are still assessing damages from Hurricane Sandy. Determining the total financial impact of their losses will take time which is why we’re extending this loan program through the end of the year.
"There’s a lot to take in, so providing additional time to see what support FEMA and their insurance companies can provide is just one more way we can help”.
Rauh continued: “I’m especially proud of our employees, they continue to pull together for those in need by raising money for area food shelters, sponsoring dress down days and collecting items such as toiletries, baby items, blankets, pet food, flashlights and some have even given blood. This is truly what community is all about”.
