Sandy Hook School Support Fund account established at Chelsea Groton Bank

GROTON, Conn. (December 18, 2012) –  Chelsea Groton Bank is collecting donations for The Sandy Hook School Support Fund, established by Newtown Savings Bank and the United Way of Western Connecticut.  Proceeds will provide support services to families and the Newtown community. All donations to this fund will go directly to those affected.  Check donations can be dropped off at any Chelsea Groton Branch or may be mailed to:

“We will help in any way we can” said Michael Rauh, President and CEO.  “This tragedy has touched all of our lives, but is nothing compared to the unimaginable loss the families and community in Newtown have suffered.  Getting the word out about the fund for the community is the least that we can do.  We’ll continue to look for opportunities to provide assistance; in the meantime we’ll begin by working with the United Way of Western Connecticut.”

Additionally, Chelsea Groton employees will host a dress down day for charity this Friday, December 21, 2012 to raise funds for our neighbors in the Newtown community.  Employees will donate as much as they are able which will be added to the Bank’s $5,000 donation.   Several other initiatives are being established within our community which will be posted on chelseagroton.com
