Introducing the 2013-2014 Community Dance Ensemble (CDE), a non-profit dance company in residence at The Dance Extension in Quaker Hill & New London. Artistic Director, Maggie Dennis, founded the company on a strong belief in the value of bringing dance performance and education to the community and using dance to bridge the generation gap between the young and the elderly.
The CDE performs an established repertoire of classical, tap, jazz and contemporary styles at special events throughout New England. Annual holiday concerts at nursing and assisted living homes in southeastern Connecticut have been a tradition since 1979. The company also performs to raise funds for both local & national charities such as Muscular Dystrophy, the United Way and the American Red Cross, and has twice been selected to perform at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida.
