The event, according to Facebook, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or until all the chili's gone, at the Morton Hall Gymnasium at the Naval Submarine Base New London.
Admission is $5 at the door, and everyone will be able to cast a vote for their favorite chili recipe.

According to the 2012 Sub Ball Chili Cook-off Facebook page, those interested in entering their chili can do so through Monday, March 26. They recommend bringing 8 to 10 quarts of chili to the cook-off.
