The group, which playfully donned the moniker “LUCKY 23,” officially joins Connecticut’s growing list of winners to claim the game’s “Match 5” prize.
“There’s a lot of excitement here today,” said the group’s spokesperson, Mark Byington, amongst all of the high-energy and commotion. “It’s a nice, little windfall for some of these guys. I’m very happy for all of them.”
Most of the group was there and none planned to quit their day job, although one had retired since the numbers were drawn last month. They told reporters at The Day that they'll be using the money to take a nice vacation, improve their home or replenish their savings.
After the festivities, Noble shook hands while presenting each winner with their share of the $1,000,000 prize in a check for $29,695 (after taxes).
“We hope you all enjoy what you have won with a lot of happiness and good health,” said Noble addressing the group. “We love it when people play together—it’s all about fun.”
