TAKE YOUR CHILD TOTHE LIBRARY DAY - BILL MEMORIAL LIBRARY

The Bill Memorial Library invites you to the first annual Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 4th. Children and their families can join in many activities throughout the day, including contests and giveaways. At 1:00 p.m. the library will host a Family StoryTime
featuring very special guest readers City of Groton Mayor Marian Galbraith and Town of Groton Mayor Heather Bond-Somers, followed by hot cocoa and cookies. Visitors can participate in the library scavenger hunt and drop-in crafts
between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Browse the library museum or sign up for a library card (bring proof of Groton residency). Get in on the fun! The Bill Memorial Library was recently named the winner of Connecticut’s 2012 Excellence in Public Library Service Award – check us out and find out why! For more information call the library at 860-445-0392.

Take Your Child to the Library Day is a grass-roots event
first suggested by Nadine Lipman, Children’s Librarian at the Waterford Public Library, with over 100 libraries in the state and beyond currently participating. The Connecticut State Library is co-sponsoring this event along with the Connecticut Library Consortium and the Connecticut Library Association.

The Bill Memorial Library is located at 240 Monument Street in Groton, near the Groton Monument and Fort Griswold.  The library, now more than 100 years old, has
an extensive collection of books and media for adults and children. Visit their web page at billmemorial.org or find us on Facebook – The Bill Memorial Library of Groton, CT
