The Sleds Come Out at Washington Park

Snow closed school early on Monday, and kids took advantage of it into the evening.

Families brought their sleds to Washington Park on Monday to enjoy the fresh layer of snow, well into the evening.

The weather closed schools early in Groton and nearby towns, and canceled afterschool programs, athletic events and municipal meetings.

The park, which has a large hill opposite the baseball field, is a popular spot for sledders and children trying out snowboards after a snow.
