We All Scream...

For Ice Cream! Visit Your Local Ice Cream Parlor And Put Some Yummy In Your Tummy...

I don't know about your kids, but mine love ice cream. Yours too? I thought so.

Nothing says summer like a double chocolate fudge flavored ice cream cone melting down your arm faster than you can eat it.

One of our favorite local ice cream stores is Salem Valley Farms Ice Cream Co. on 20 Darling Road in Salem.

Quality ingredients make for quality, handmade ice cream and Salem Valley Farms Ice Cream is worth the drive and the time spent in figuring out which of the 75 or so flavors you want to try!

They also offer frozen yogurt, lowfat and no-sugar-added flavors, and dairy free options such as sorbet or a soy-based ice-cream.

They are open 7 days a week for the summer, but please check their online calendar for hours and more information.

If it's a hot day, be prepared for a long line! But it will be worth the wait!

My suggestion? Visit as often as you can. But if you don't want to blow your budget, opt for the smallest serving size--their ice cream is so rich you'll be satisifed with a small amount!

Other ice cream parlors in the area that are worth the drive, the calories and all that sugar are Michael's Dairy in New London, Alice Acres in Ledyard, Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream in Mystic, and Buttonwood Farm in Preston.
