Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, 10 p.m., CBS

Forest Whitaker and Janeane Garofalo star in this spin-off of the most misogynistic show on TV, Criminal Minds. Now, I love both of them. And the preview actually looked pretty good. But if it is going to be like its sister show, and simply victimize women over and over in grotesque and exploitative ways, then I am out before I’m in.

Survivor: Redemption Island, 8 p.m., CBS

“The biggest game-changer ever” is how they are describing this Redemption Island concept, which apparently means that once you are voted out you might be able to come back … in some way. I remember one season they brought back two people who had been voted out, and one of them ended up in the final two, and the outrage nearly shut down the Internet. This is not that, I guess. I am obviously fuzzy on the details. What I’m clear on is the part where they are bringing back Boston Rob and Russell. And while I am always happy to see Boston Rob, I am sick to death of Russell.

American Idol, 8 p.m., Fox

Group sing! It’s the group sing! This is my hands-down favorite time of Idol. The meltdowns! The putdowns! The throw downs! It is on!
