591 Poquonnock Rd Groton CT 06340  See map

The Charity Bookshop is a non-profit bookstore operated by The Groton Auxiliary of The Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT. As of May 2, the bookstore will be open on Thursday from 2 PM until 6 PM, so that customers can shop after work. However, we will be closed on July 4 & July 5.

The Charity Bookshop offers local readers unbeatable prices on new and used books. Hardcover books are priced at $2.00, while paperbacks range from .50 to $1.00. Children’s books are priced from .20 to $2.00. A very few books are marked at slightly higher prices.

Our primary goal is to raise funds for The Child and Family Agency. However, we also seek to encourage reading by making good books available to area residents at affordable prices. Our selection includes both fiction and non-fiction books.

We welcome donations of clean, gently used books.

The Charity Bookshop is open on Wednesday and Saturday from 10 AM until 4 PM and on Thursday from 2 PM until 6 PM. The shop is closed on holiday weekends so that our volunteers can spend this time with their families.
