Classic Cinema: Christmas in Connecticut

The Library will screen the film, Christmas in Connecticut, on Tuesday, December 20, at 2 p.m. A famous food writer, Elizabeth Lane (Barbara Stanwyck),  lies about living on a farm, raising children and being a good cook.  In reality, she is an unmarried New Yorker who can’t boil an egg. When Lane’s editor arranges for a heroic sailor to spend  a domestic Christmas at the  “family farm” as a publicity stunt, Lane knows her job is on the line. This 1945 black and white movie runs for 101 minutes and is not rated. It also stars Dennis Morgan and Sydney Greenstreet.
