Kenya in transition talk at Mystic & Noank LIbrary

Kenya in Transition talk at the Mystic & Noank Library   Mystic resident Tim Evers will speak about his recent trip to Kenya and his work with the American Friends of Kenya organization at the Mystic & Noank Library on Monday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. American Friends of Kenya began as an informal effort to support a Kenyan couple living in Connecticut who wanted to help build school and community libraries in Kenya.  Many of their friends and neighbors came together to make their dream a reality.  During 2004, 18 of the people involved in the book collection drive visited Kenya.  They returned home energized and inspired to do more.  The result was the incorporation of American Friends of Kenya and its approval as a non-profit 501 c 3 public charity in March 2005.    Tim is active in many Mystic organizations including Mystic Community Bikes, the Mystic River Historical Society and St. Marks Church.  Please come and hear his talk about AFK and their inspiring work. This event is free to all and doors open at 6 p.m.
