WHERE/WHEN: Throughout the day Saturday, statewide.

3. 16TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ARTS AND IDEAS

WHERE/WHEN: Festival kicks off on Saturday and runs through June 25. Events are held at various New Haven venues, including the green.

WHY GO: The festival features music, theater, art, kid-friendly activities and more! Don’t miss free events on the green, like Saturday’s Yo-Yo Ma concert at 7 p.m.

4. VISIT GILLETTE CASTLE STATE PARK

WHERE/WHEN: Gillette Castle, located in East Haddam, is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily through Columbus Day.

WHY GO: Whether a first-time visitor or a veteran, you’re sure to enjoy roaming the castle and the grounds. Skip the dollar menu and pack a picnic to munch on outside!

PRICING: Castle admission is $6 for adults, including kids 13 and up. Kids ages 6 to 12 are $2 each. No fee to access the grounds.

WHERE/WHEN: Shows are Wednesdays through Sundays at the Ivoryton Playhouse until June 26.
