Groton Goes Back to School

Today was the first day of school for most Groton students and so far, so good.

Teachers at Charles Barnum school had a smooth return to the school year Wednesday as students and parents came to school ready for the year.

Principal Val Nelson said the school is unique because its population fluctuates greatly with military families and that each classroom has about 2 to 3 new students each year.

Grades 1-5 started school today and Friday is the first day for kindergarteners.
