Summer Is Slow Season For CT's Food Pantries

Donations come rolling in around the holidays, but not during the warm-weather season

 

Have you donated to your local food pantry lately? If yes, kudos! If not, we have ways to fix that.

The New Haven Register is reporting thatdonations to Connecticut's food pantries "suffer" in the warm-weather months and they're in need of your help--fast!

The article explains that food donations are low in the summer when families are occupied with vacation and that there aren't too many food drives happening this time of year, either.

They can no longer rely on the breakfasts and lunches provided free of cost or at a reduced rate at schools, the article says.
