Award Winners of Groton Lights Parade Announced!

Awards given at January breakfast at the Groton Best Western Olympic Inn.

Celebrating its 15th year, the Annual Groton Lights Parade took place this past Saturday, December 7, at 5 p.m.  Over 35 businesses and floats participated in the holiday tradition, which takes place on Route 1 in Groton and ends with the official tree lighting and pictures with Santa at the Groton Shopping Plaza.  Steve Elci and Friends provided the post-parade entertainment. 

Each year, participants are judged and prizes awarded at a breakfast, which will take place at the Groton Best Western Olympic Inn on January 16th at 7:30am. This year we are proud to announce the winners of the following categories; Finest Illumination- a tie between Center Groton Fire Department and Gales Ferry Fire Department; Best Children's Entry- Groton Tractor; Sounds of the Season- Colchester Centennial Fife and Drum; Most Original- Jenkins Landscaping.
