We have your nominations; now tell us your favorite.

In this edition of Best of Groton, we looked on the comments posted on Groton Patch, Facebook and Twitter to narrow the nominations down to five finalists.

To pick a winner, we need you to vote on one of the five as your favorite.

Thanks again, and happy eating.

Our finalists are:

  • A neighborhood favorite, you can stop by and order seafood, classic grilled and fried foods or pasta. The cafe has been in business for 24 years.
  • : "Their portions are huge and the food is amazing," one reader wrote on Facebook. Hub's is open daily for lunch and dinner, and you can eat in, take out or have food delivered.
  • The Shack: The restaurant originally opened in 1989 in East Lyme, but has added locations in Waterford and Groton. The Groton restaurant is the most recent, opening in April, 2010.
  • Fin's Cafe: The cafe is on the University of Connecticut-Avery Point campus, but anyone can eat there, and many do.  A 3,000-pound great white shark caught off Block Island, R.I. hangs from the ceiling.
  • The bar and restaurant in Groton's downtown serves seafood, wings, steak and ribs for lunch. At night, it offers karaoke, DJs and Nascar viewing.
