Fill This Spot: What Would You Like To See Here?

This place has been empty for so long we can't even tell what used to be here. What business would you like to see? And should someone clean it up?

This piece of property on Route 12 has been abandoned for so long it doesn't even have an address anymore. We can tell you it is next door to Linmar Collectibles at 311 Route 12, and across the street from , the former Gathering Place restaurant.

It used to house two businesses, a pizza joint (when was the last time a large pizza was $6.99?) and possibly an outpost of New London's Sarge's Comics, based on the sign.

This is a busy piece of Route 12 with a variety of businesses and strip malls. What would you like to see here? And should the town make someone clean up the place?

Seems like a good candidate for the new Town of Groton Blight Ordinance. Get the owner to clean it up!

First of all, EVERY piece of property has an address. By accessing the Town's GIS data (and by process of elimination), it appears that this property is 327 Route 12. Per the assessor, 327 is owned by Cassette LLC. Per the Secretary of State data, the manager of Cassette is RIM LLC (couldn't readily find anything on this entity) and its agent (designated person to accept service) is Gretchen Chipperini. Per the assessor, the property address where the bill is sent is 87 Phoenix Drive, Groton. Eight-seven Phoenix Drive is owned by Ultegra LLC. Ultegra LLC is managed by RIM LLC and its agent is Gretchen Chipperini. If it is not 327, then right next door is 311, which is also owned by Cassette LLC. All of this information is online and of public record. If there is a blight ordinace, then this property(ies) appear to be a very good candidates.

OMG, another Gretchen Chiapperini property that needs to be torn down. How does she get away with this all the time??????? Her house in Mystic, the overgrown blighted abandoned, run down used to be trailer park on Walker Hill Road, need I go on??????????????

The extent the town had to go to to get the Library St property cleaned up, as well as the cost to take the owner to court was absurd. There is a precedence of the owner "snubbing their nose" at the town and being very good at dragging their feet to meet court deadlines and requests. The town should just bulldoze it, it might be cheaper in the long run.

I agree mystmom,or let the fire department use it for training purposes.
