Mystic Senior Living Facility Transferred For $12.58 Million

A senior living facility in Mystic transferred last week for $12.58 million is part of a new multi-million dollar partnership involving investors, the company said Wednesday.

Benchmark GPT Mystic LLC, of Wellesley, Mass., sold 20 Academy Lane  - the senior living facility called Academy Point -  for $12, 585,720 to a group called 20 Academy Lane LLC, c/o Health Care REIT of Toledo, Ohio, on March 28.

The transfer was recorded in Town Hall on April 1.

Academy Point is one of 34 senior housing communities managed by Benchmark Senior Living, the company said in a prepared statement. The transfer was part of a larger transaction and $890 million investment by Health Care REIT, the statement said.

Under the terms of the agreement, Benchmark and Ohio-based Health Care REIT, will own the properties and Benchmark will manage them.

Benchmark will continue to run the Mystic facility and there will be no change in its daily operation, the statement said.

“This partnership gives us the financial strength to keep expanding and adding to our unique services for seniors . .” Tom Grape, Benchmark’s chairman and chief executive officer said in the statement.

Benchmark runs 15 facilities in Connecticut, including Academy Point.

The Committee of Amalia L. Blumberg and Donald J. DiFrancesca, of 811 Boswell Avenue in Norwich, transferred 220 Judson Avenue for zero dollars to James B. Nutter & Company on Feb. 16.

James B. Nutter & Company, of 4153 Broadway St. in Kansas City, Missouri, transferred 220 Judson Avenue for zero dollars to the Federal National Mortgage Association on Feb. 17.

Aurora Loan Services, LLC, of 10350 Panc Meadows Drive in Littleton, Colo., sold 153 Laurelwood Road for $136,000 to Man Ling Wong on April 4.

Errol B. Crossman and Alicia G. Crossman, of 93 Pearl Street in Noank, transferred 0 Chesbro Avenue for zero dollars to Barton O. Crossman, Thomas I. Crossman and Errolle Rathbun on April 3.

Mystic River Ambulance Association, Inc., of P.O. Box 64 in West Mystic, sold 237 Sandy Hollow Road for $150,000 to TCO Land LLC on Jan. 28.
