NAACP Honors Chelsea Groton Bank's Commitment to Community Education

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) New London Chapter recently selected Chelsea Groton to receive it’s Education Award. Applauding the bank’s community education program, leadership, service and dedication to New London and to local youth scholarship, the bank was honored at the NAACP’s Freedom Fund Dinner held June 27, 2013, at Ocean Beach Park’s Port ‘N’ Starboard banquet facility in New London.

“I was thrilled to have Chelsea Groton recognized at our local NAACP’s Education Award celebration,” explained President and CEO Michael Rauh, “because their mission complements the bank’s commitment to support our local communities and advance education.   We believe everyone should have the opportunity to rise to their full potential, and Chelsea Groton enacts this vision through our grant programs, scholarships, employee volunteering, free adult and student education programs, and much more. These initiatives empower our philosophy of mutual trust, purpose and respect, which benefits individuals and our community as a whole.”
