Calling All Artists!

The Groton Senior Center is seeking artists to turn ordinary chairs into art for a fundraising auction. Chairs have been donated and are available on a first come, first serve basis at the Groton Senior Center (102 Newtown Road). Artists may come in and sign out a chair, bring it home and use their imagination to restyle, decorate, refinish, or transform the chair however they would like.

Chairs must be returned to the Senior Center before January 10th. Chairs will then be displayed in community businesses to promote the auction and the artists and the auction will be held Friday, April 4th. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Senior Center's community programs and services.

Interested artists may contact Mary Jo Riley, Senior Center Supervisor, at mriley@groton-ct.gov or call (860) 441-6785 for more information.

Sponsorships are available! Businesses interested in sponsoring a chair may contact Kate Bradley, Program Supervisor for Marketing & Special Events, at kbradley@groton-ct.gov or (860) 536-5007.
