We give thanks for you

This is a wonderful time of year! The holiday season makes hearts warm even when the temperatures outside are freezing. Neighbors’ faces light up with joy and the glow of festive lights. But most wonderful of all is this special holiday when we pause to reflect on what we are most grateful for in our lives.

At Groton Parks and Recreation, we have a lot to be thankful for. Every day we have an opportunity to improve our community and the lives of others. In celebration of Thanksgiving this week, here are a few things that we are thankful for:

  1. Groton’s parks. From Esker Point Beach to Tercentennial Park Playground, Groton’s parks have something for everyone. You can get outside from some fresh air and exercise on your lunch break or take the kids for a picnic and enjoy the day.
  2. The natural beauty of Groton’s many trails. Now it is easier than ever to find them with our new trail signs! You never know what you’ll come across on a hike, from dragonflies to beaver dams. There truly is a trail for everyone in Groton.
  3. Our dedicated instructors. We are able to offer such a wide variety of programming in part thanks to our amazing instructors. Many of them have worked with us for years and continue to bring something new and exciting to our programs. Each one is truly unique and they make the experience of each participant a special one.
  4. Our supportive community. Whether enjoying a concert at the beach in the summer, a youth sports game in the fall, or a luncheon to say farewell to the longtime cook at the Senior Center, we see all kinds of people in our community come together at our programs and events.
  5. YOU! Our program participants are the reason we do what we do. We love seeing your kids grow from level one swimming to level 4. We love hearing your fitness success stories and your first words in another language. We love watching children make lifelong friends at summer camp. The opportunity to make an impact on the lives of so many of you is something we are all grateful for every day. You inspire us!

From everyone at Groton Parks and Recreation, we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving filled with all the things you love and are thankful for!
