Review of Groton Planning Meeting for Public Input
The town invited citizen input to help shape the direction of Groton for the next decade on May 15, at 6 p.m. The meeting was conducted by the Steering Committee for the town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. The purpose of the meeting was to solicit input regarding land use, natural resources, cultural values, housing and transportation, to name a few.
Committee members showed their conclusions to date and consultants reviewed changes that have occurred in Groton since the last plan was approved in 2002.
The purpose was to determine the priorities to develop, including recreation, open space and family housing. Attendees were encouraged to submit comments to project staff and at least two residents, unable to attend, submitted written suggestions.
For reasons not known, no Groton Town Council members were present to participate in the discussions.
