The Poquonnock Bridge Fire District’s board of directors voted earlier this week to rescind a recently approved union contract that gives annual raises of 3 percent to firefighters for the next 10 years.
The district also rescinded other action taken at a July 26 meeting, which it said violated freedom of information rules. The recinded votes included a provision to provide cost of living increases for retired firefighters.
The union president declined comment after the vote, but indicated he would seek legal advice if the board took an action the union found unacceptable. or too expensive. The full text of the existing and recently rescinded .
