Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect Until 11 a.m.

There are reports of flooding throughout Mystic and Stonington. The flooding reported with high tide in Groton has mostly cleared, police said.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flooding advisory for the area until 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec., 27, 2012.

According to the National Weather Service, minor to moderate coastal flooding with the high tide cycles is possible this morning in low-lying coastal areas along southeastern Connecticut. Groton police said most of the flooding reported along with high tide earlier this morning has cleared.

  • Today Showers likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Tonight A chance of showers, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 14 to 17 mph.
  • Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.
