Daily Five: Town Council, School Board Will Hear Redistricting Plan Tonight

Five Things To Know, Monday, Sept. 17

1.  Today is Monday, Sept. 17. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature of 74 degrees.  Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 61 degrees.

2.  The Groton Town Council and Board of Education meet jointly at 6 p.m. today in the Town Hall Annex to discuss topics including redistricting and the school facilities initiative. The boards will also receive updates on middle school consolidation and the superintendent.

The Branford consulting firm Milone & MacBroom will present its redistricting plan for the public schools at the joint meeting.  The school department hired the company last spring to review the redistricting plans , route: {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show", :id=>"groton-school-board-approves-redistricting-plan"} -->and see if they meet state requirements.
