Do You Still Have Brush From Storms Irene and Sandy?

The Groton Department of Public Works will pick it up for residents who request it through March 28.

If you still have brush in your yard from Tropical Storm Irene and Super Storm Sandy it's not too late to get it picked up.

Here's the procedure, according to a memo from the town director of public works:

Call (860) 448-4083 or send an email to pworks@groton-ct.gov by March 28.

Once you make your request, you will be put on a list and assigned to the transfer station for pickup.

You'll be told your number on the list, but expect a two-week wait. Brush fees at the transfer station will be waived through April 27. Piles must be off the road, with no limbs sticking out into the roadway. Cars must not be parked near the pile so workers have access to it.

Transfer station personnel will pick up the brush Tuesday through Saturday.
