Five Things To Know Today

Warm Weather, The Parade And The Garden Club

1.  Today is Friday, March 18.  You won't need a coat. The National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies, a high near 61 degrees and winds from 18 to 21 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 34 degrees.

2.  School Superintendent Paul Kadri will speak from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the Groton Public Library about the proposal to build a new middle school, create two early childhood centers and restructure the school system.  The construction proposal will be on the May ballot, so if you have questions for the superintendent, this is an opportunity to ask them. Kadri will also give a presentation at noon on Thursday, March 24 in the Groton Senior Center.

3.  The Mystic Irish Parade starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, with more than 80 groups, a pipe band from Scotland and the The Red Hot Chilli Pipers as the headliner. Some roads will be closed and there's a temporary no parking order for the parade, so you might want to arrive early. For details on the road closures and parking restrictions, click here.
