Five Things To Know Today

A Public Hearing, A Boat Building Class And Registration for Groton's Spring Parks And Recreation Programs

1.  Today is Monday, March 28.  The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature near 41 degrees. Tonight will be clear, breezy and cold, with a low around 22 degrees.

2.  The Groton Town Council's Public Hearing on the budget is at 7 p.m. today in the Groton Senior Center. If you'd like to offer your thoughts on the proposed $121.89 million budget, this is a chance to make your voice heard.  The budget proposal includes increased spending for education, debt service and subdivisions like Groton City and Groton Long Point.

3.  Mystic Seaport is offering a boat building class this week, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., through March 29. To find out more about the program, click here.

4.  Registration for Groton Parks and Recreation's spring programs is open now. You can find out more about programs and register online by clicking on the department's website at grotonrec.com.  If you have questions about the programs or signing up, you may also call the Recreation office at (860) 536-5680.

5.  The Groton Public Schools have early dismissal for elementary students on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week for parent teacher conferences.
