Five Things To Know Today

A Business Update, A Horse Auction And Disney's Ocean

1.  Today is Thursday, April 21.  It'll be sunny and breezy, with a high temperature near 57 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts could reach 31 mph. The low will drop to 33 degrees tonight.

2.  The Groton Business Association of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce will give an update on local business during a breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. today at Groton Inn & Suites. Town of Groton Economic Development Specialist Barbara Strother will be the featured speaker.

3.  The Connecticut Department of Agriculture is offering a mule and 16 horses for sale during the University of Connecticut’s Annual Spring Horse Auction on Saturday. The animals were seized in various animal cruelty and neglect cases, officials said. "They have come a long way since their rescue and they are healthy and ready to find new homes,” Department of Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. 4.  The Brito Center for Arts & Healing will hold a healthy lifestyles fair from 12:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at Webster Bank on Long Hill Road in Groton. There will be short demonstrations and presentations during the day as part of the event.  The program is free. To find out more, click here.

5.  The Groton Public Library will show the film "Disney's Ocean" at 11:15 a.m. today as part of its ongoing earth week activities for teens. The program is free and open to all. "Disney's Earth" will show from 9:30 a.m.
