1.  Today is Tuesday, May 17.  The National Weather Service predicts rain, maybe a thunderstorm, a high temperature of 56 degrees and a low of 52 degrees.

2.  The Groton Parent Council meets at 5:30 p.m. today in Fitch High School, and officers will be elected. The group may also discuss the issues Groton is facing due to cuts to the school board's budget request for coming year. There is no scheduled meeting in June.

3.  The Tim Horton Children's Foundation will offer space to eight Groton children to attend youth summer camp at Camp Kentahten in Kentucky this summer. But since the coffee shops have closed, this is the last year the camp will be offered to first-time campers, according to a report by the Groton town manager. Twelve children from Groton who previously went to camp have the chance to attend upper level camps in Canada this summer.
