Five Things To Know Today, Oct. 6

The Noank Reuse Task Force, Library Furniture And Two Fundraisers

1.  Today is Thursday, Oct. 6.  The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies, a high temperature of 62 degrees, and a low of 42 tonight.

2.  The Noank Reuse Task Force meets at 7 p.m. tonight in the Town Hall Annex and will discuss the group’s recommendation to the Town Council on the best future use of the former school property.  A survey of residents found that most would like the site used for recreation or open space, and many would like the school building saved.

3. If you recognize the new furniture and shelves in Groton Public Library, there’s a reason for that; the furniture came from the Borders that closed in Waterford. The library recently replaced the old information desk with a new area that includes displays, and added new shelving and chairs. The library used the money raised from book sales to buy the items.
