Groton Issues Reminder to Prepare for Hurricane Sandy Today

Office of Emergency Management: 'This is not a storm to be taken lightly'

The Groton Office of Emergency Management issued this reminder on the town website today:

Sandy's track moved north during the overnight and is now  forecast to come ashore somewhere around the middle of N.J.

Also, the National Weather Center in Upton, N.Y. has posted Flood Warnings and High Wind Warnings from Monday morning through Tuesday. It's important to note that since Sandy is a transitioning storm, we will not see Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warnings and that's why you see the other warnings instead.

This is not a storm to take lightly and your preparations should be completed
during the day today.
