Burning Question Of The Week: Should Pfizer Ask Groton For Marketing Help Before Demolishing Buildings?

The company says it will finish demolishing Building 126 in May. Has it spoken too soon?

 

Groton town and city officials are trying to on the Groton campus.

They first sought the meeting about two weeks ago.

, a former research facility on Eastern Point Road.  The company said it marketed the site, but the building failed to attract the interest of potential buyers.

Pfizer last met with Groton officials in December, and at that time outlined plans to market a handful of properties, including Building 126, for sale or lease.

Town Manager Mark Oefinger said he knows of a company in Connecticut that might be a candidate for Pfizer space, but he isn’t privy to the terms and conditions of a potential lease.
