Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Groton Friday Afternoon

Thunderstorms are expected to roll into the area this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Groton area.

There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation this afternoon with winds around nine miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The risk of showers and thunderstorms rises to about 70 percent Friday evening. Thunderstorms are expected to produce gusty winds, heavy rain and lighting, according to the National Weather Service.
