Moms Talk Q&A: Intervene Or Mind Your Own Business?

Groton Patch Starting A Forum For Parents To Discuss Local Issues

Moms Talk is a new feature on Groton Patch that is part of a new initiative on Patch sites to reach out to mothers and families.

This week, we're asking parents about that situation we've all been in; we watch a skirmish among children, wait for a parent to react, and yet no one does.

When is it appropriate to step in - even if it someone else's child - and when should you mind your own business? Do you tend to see too much of one behavior or the other?

Each week in Moms Talk, our Moms Council will take your questions about issues like this, share solutions and give advice about local topics important to families. The idea is to offer parents, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community a resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians, 24-hour pharmacies and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Moms Talk will also be the place to drop in for a talk about the latest parenting hot topic. What do you do if your child is being bullied? How do you talk to your son or daughter about the Tucson shootings? How can you help schools weather budget cutbacks?
