On East Shore Road in Groton Long Point and in Noank, some homeowners had boarded up their houses.

Jeff Pollard, of Noank, helped Ford's Lobster pull out every other plank from its docks. Last year, the waves crashed up under the planks and since the water had nowhere to go, it took down docks, Pollard said.

"I think it's going to be bad," he said.

I hope your foolish decision does not put your rescuer in harms way.. I personally would leave you on your own rather than risk lives to rescue you form yourself. Your position is selfish..

It is mandatory. That means that if something happens during the storm, no emergency services will come help you.
