Travel Services Slowing Returning To Southeastern Connecticut

Delays Remain This Morning

Travel services are resuming following a widespread shutdown on Sunday, but the effects of Tropical Storm Irene are continuing to cause some delays and cancellations.

Amtrak has announced that flooding, debris, and power issues have affected rail lines in the Northeast Corridor. Crews are working to address the issues, and all Acela Express service between Boston and Washington, D.C. and all Northeast Regional service between Boston and Philadelphia has been cancelled for today.

Shore Line East cancelled morning service today, but service will resume for evening trains.

 cancelled an 8:10 a.m. departure from New London and 9:45 a.m. departure from Block Island. All other departures are scheduled to run as usual.

 has cancelled all Sea Jet trips for today, and there will be no connections to Foxwoods Resort Casino. The regular schedule is in effect except for 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. departures from New London. There will also be no 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. departures from Orient Point.

 has resumed service to New York City, but there may still be delays or cancellations for service in other areas. Passengers should call the ticket line at 1-800-231-2222 for information on individual routes.
