Vigil Planned, Fund Started For Salem Family

“Please keep the Bourgeois Family in your thoughts and prayers”

 

A candlelight vigil and a fund has been set up for the Salem family grieving the loss of their son, who died in an accident with a wood chipper on Tuesday.

The candlelight vigil will be held at 7:45 p.m. today on the Salem Town Green for the Bourgeois family. First Selectmen Kevin Lyden has asked fellow townspeople to bring white candles.

A fund has been also established. Donations to the “Bourgeois Family Fund” may be brought the Salem Branch of the Chelsea Groton Bank or to the Salem Town Clerk, 270 Hartford Road, Salem, CT, 06420.

Jeffrey Bourgeois, 6, and was pulled into it.

Lyden wrote to residents April 10:

“It is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform you of the accidental death of one of our students, six year old Jeffrey Bourgeois.

Jeffrey was the son of Scott and Corinne Bourgeois and a sibling to Zacary and Nicole.

The school will be open this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m to 6:30 p.m. to provide counseling services to students and family members as they cope with this tragic news.

Please keep the Bourgeois Family in your thoughts and prayers.”
