Hi Rose, Thank you for your interest. We are part of a nationally recognized organization, the Gluten Intolerance Group, NA (www.gluten.net), and became a full-fledged 501c-3 support group. Our mission-- awareness, education and support --has enabled us to reach out to the community by encouraging local restaurants to serve gluten-free entrees, asking stores to stock more products, donating ice cream cones to a dozen shoreline ice cream shops this summer, and, last summer, giving nearly 40 books to local libraries and school libraries to help educate parents, teachers and children about this condition. We have a newsletter, monthly meetings, newspaper articles, community events. We are based in Westbrook, CT., but meetings/events are often held in Clinton, Old Lyme and other locations, from September through June. Dues are $25 per year while newsletter subscriptions are $15 per year. We can be reached through our website: www.ShorelineEast@gluten.net; email: shoreglutenfree@yahoo.com; on Facebook at Gluten Intolerance Group of ShorelineEast; or our blog: www.glutenfreeontheshoreline.blogspot.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
