Groton Holiday Lights Parade

Kick off the holiday season in traditional style with the Fifteenth Annual Groton Lights Parade on Saturday, December 7 at 5:00 p.m. Come see floats lit with sparkling lights, marching bands, and groups on foot marching from Poquonnock Road at South Road, along Long Hill Road to the Groton Shopping Plaza. Local high schools, fife and drum corps, and neighboring fire departments participate in this annual event. Local businesses decorate their cars, trucks and floats with festive holiday lighting.

Immediately after the parade, Santa himself will be there to light the tree in the green in the Groton Shopping Plaza near the Post Office. Parents can take photos of their children with Santa while the kids will enjoy Steve Elci and Friends, who will bring you their own special form of “Edu-tainment” as part of the post-parade celebration. Enjoy free refreshments and special gifts for the children donated by Grader Jewelers.

Bring a gift! Members of the Old Mystic Fire District will be walking along the parade route with Tower Ladder G65 and the dive truck, Dive-6. They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children from birth to 18-years-old from the spectators. Items will also be collected at the end of the parade at the holiday tree lighting.

The Groton Holiday Lights Parade is brought to you by the Groton Business Association, Groton Parks and Recreation, and many generous sponsors.
