GROTON
REGIONAL THEATRE ANNOUNCES UPCOMING PRODUCTION OF THE WEDDING SINGER!

(Groton, CT) – GRT is thrilled to announce its
upcoming production of THE WEDDING SINGER, sponsored by AT&T -- June 20
through July 6 at the Groton Senior Center auditorium! This 2006 Broadway hit
musical is based on the popular 1998 romantic comedy movie with Adam Sandler
and Drew Barrymore.

The story centers around Robbie Hart, a singer with a New Jersey wedding band who is dumped by his long-time
girlfriend and finds true love with a sweet waitress named Julia. The stage
version -- with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and book by
Beguelin and Tim Herlihy -- is faithful to the original film, with a few minor
changes (Robbie lives with his grandmother and there is no sister character, for
example). The music is lively, fun, and definitely will have audiences singing
when they leave the theater! A couple of Adam Sandler's original songs from the
movie were retained. (Warning to parents: There will be an F-bomb or two!)

The director is Vic Panciera and the musical
director is Nathaniel Baker. The cast features Jon Carpentier, Alyson Fowler, Emily
Young, Antonio Pereira, Michael Schroeder, Eric Bowles, Pauline Batista, Anna Maria Trusky, and Kathy
O'Hara. The ensemble includes Lucas Pereira, Andrew Plasse, Drew Lyon, Corey Gonzales, Mackenzie Ackley, Ariel Constabile, Janice Lehner, Alex McCune, Bessie Fong,
and Trevor May

This very entertaining show openings June 20 and
runs through July 6 (no performance July 4). Friday and Saturday performances
will be at 8:00 PM and Sunday matinees will be at 2:00.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. To
