Looking for Work
Local author and career coach, Jean Baur, will present Looking for Work, on Wednesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Baur will offer tips on finding work in a tough job market for job seekers of all ages, from high school or college student to the experienced professional.
Baur will return for another workshop, Learn How to Interview Effectively, on Wednesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. She will teach participants what to avoid in an interview and the strategies for coming across as the best candidate. The presentation is based on her new book, The Essential Job Interview Handbook.
Baur has worked in the outplacement industry for the past 20 years. She's an expert in working with job seekers of all functions and levels and likes nothing better than helping those in transition overcome obstacles and find work that's a good fit. Her first book, Eliminated! Now What? won national media attention. She currently lives in Stonington where she continues her work with Lee Hecht Harrison, a talent solutions company, as well as teaching her own highly successful workshop, Boomers Back to Work! for CTWorks. Known for relating well to diverse audiences, Jean is a high-energy, entertaining speaker and a member of the National Speakers Association. Her books will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.
