They also offer free pet food for those in need who have dogs and cats. The food is provided by the Groton Animal Foundation's new initiative called the Groton Animal Pantry, also known as G.A.P. There is a costumed pet parade on May 14th on Enders Island at Noon. The suggested admission fee is some pet food to benefit G.A.P. Dress up your pet and join us!!

I added a few pictures from today, May 16. How good can a free meal be? REALLY GOOD. The bulk of the croud comes at 5pm, we didn't get there until around 5:40 so we had no trouble finding a seat. The staff was tripping over themselves to accomodate us. Appetizer was pizza slices. Beverages were milk, chocolate milk, lemonade, coffee and water, our glasses were never empty. Here is the best part they have two choices. Hot dogs, beans, mac and cheese OR chichen florentine with ziti and green beans! Are you kidding me? For me it was like and adult and a kids menu. I saw the size of the plates coming out and I asked for a half portion but it still had me finishing last. Mary runs the show and she could not be more on the ball. Chocolate cake was for dessert but my daughter doesn't eat chocolate. No problem, Mary whipped out the popsicles! I felt like I was at a long lost relateves home--lots of them! They loaded us up with dog food on the way home and there was a variety of breads to choose from as well! It's a great thing.

I have been so unbelieveably blessed to be able to do this job. When I met Tammy and her INCREDIBLE children, they blew me away. What a kind, considerate, smart and beautiful group. I feel honored they chose to join us, and encourage everyone who reads this to share a meal with us on Monday nights. Also, if anyone knows someone who can use a meal/pet food/and a great deal of love, send them! We welcome with open arms.

Yes, we closed down summer 2012 and I've been trying to take this down since then. If anyone knows how to "Manage" this event, let me know! I cannot find a Manage Event tab.
