Mystic & Noank Library's FLIGHTS OF FANCY Fundraiser

The Board of Directors of the Mystic & Noank Library is planning a gala fundraising dinner on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6:30 to 10pm at the Saltwater Farm Vineyards in Stonington, CT.  Called Flights of Fancy, the event took the theme from the venue, an airplane hanger turned vineyard.

Bill Furgueson, Co-Chairman of the Library’s Board and Co-Chair of the fundraiser, is excited to be working on this novel event.  “Our goal is to relieve the economic pressure put on us by the shrinking town budgets.”  He adds, “We’re asking every member of the community who values what the Library does for everyone in the area to come support the Library at this fun party.”

Suzie Canning, Co-Chair of Flights of Fancy with Furgueson, has wanted the Library to host a gala fundraiser, and is thrilled that it is finally happening.  “Bill Furgueson brings such great energy to the Library.  We have a wonderful committee who is planning a fun, elegant and memorable evening!”

Library Director, Lois Hiller, noted that the Friends of the Mystic & Noank Library work hard every year on raising funds for the Library through the Fair in June and various book and yard sales throughout the year.  She is pleased that the Board and other supporters are working on another fundraising event to help ease the budget deficit.

Committee members include: Alexandra Alpert, Nat Arata, Ann Bergendahl, Neal Bobruff,  Barry Boodman, Todd Brady, Jane Brannegan, Peggy Brissette, Sarah Hill Canning, John Casey, Laura Elsenboss, Valerie Grimm, Dorrie Hanna, Mike Hewitt, Lee Hisle, Louise Hoffman, Camille Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mary Ann Little, Mary Katherine Porter, Ann Shipley, and Andrea Wollensak.
