Help a Local Girl With a Student Ambassador Opportunity

Mackenzie Pierce needs your help and his family is raising funds through GoFundMe.

Mackenzie Pierce is trying to become a student ambassador with the People to People Ambassador Programs for the 2014 travel season and is raising money for the cause via the GoFundMe Web site.

According to the page on GoFundMe, with the People to People 2014 'Mediterranean Traditions' program, Pierce will have the opportunity to travel all over Europe over the course of 19 days.

The page states, "We will visit Spain, France, Monaco, and Italy, stopping in such places as Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, Paris, Avignon, and Nice in France, and Assisi and Rome in Italy! We will visit the Vatican City, and even get to go inside to meet with government officials. I will also get the chance to attend high school with a host family "sibling." The tuition for this program is $8,000, but with a little help and some elbow grease I know I can reach my goal and be on my way to a better future."

So far, $225 has been raised. To donate to the cause, visit the GoFundMe page.
